Darcy grew up riding horses competitively all around Connecticut and was ranked among the highest in both the English and Western divisions. Her love for horses grew into an even deeper love for animals of all kinds as she began pet-sitting around her area when she was a kid. While attending Killingly Vocational High School’s Agricultural Mechanics program, she got a job at the Plainfield Dog Track, where she worked her way through almost every position at the company at just 17 years old. From there she rescued several horses and worked at numerous horse barns and dog kennels in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, and New Hampshire until landing here at Quinebaug Kennels in 2006. Darcy has just been promoted to Kennel Manager and does everything from caring for the dogs to providing customer service and selling our programs. When she’s not at the kennel she’s raising her awesome son Drae, who was born in 2007 and suffers from Long QT Syndrome. You can also find her riding her five horses, and spending time with her six dogs and her massive assortment of other household and outdoor animals.
