Gun Dog and Obedience Trainer
June 15, 2022

A 2016 Alumni of The Ohio State University, with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and double minors, Megan obtained her CDCA certificate, and initially intended to take a year off before entering a Master’s of Social Work program for Substance Misuse and Addiction counseling. During her studies, she was fortunate enough to be gifted a wonderful field bred Golden Retriever and found herself interested in learning as much as she could about both human and animal behavior. Megan soon found her true calling over time and developed a wealth of knowledge working under Connie Cleveland,  one of the best competitive obedience trainers in the industry.

Her personal dog, Ramsey (a Golden Retriever), is Qualified All-Age, a Master Hunter, has qualified for the Master National this fall in Oregon, and enjoys working in multiple venues. Megan is well versed in clicker training, whelping, and raising puppies, has placed nearly two dozen service dogs with their respective handlers, and enjoys fostering a dog’s natural desire to retrieve.

Prior to joining QK, she spent the last two and a half years working exclusively with retrievers. Dogs that Megan have developed through the yard training programs are now competitive and receiving placements in AKC Derby and Qualifying stakes as well as proving themselves as reliable hunting partners in the field. Her motto over the years has become, “The dogs don’t lie.”, a good handler can read and reward effort, and her greatest desire is to bring out the best in every dog and handler she coaches. Megan is honored to be trusted to develop a bond with your dog and understands how to tailor a program to fit the individual needs of the dog that stands before her, regardless of breed.
